The ridiculously talended Jasmine Bonshor has done some more illustrations for me for the Costume page. This page is now much more interactive as kids are invited to guess who they think Timmy is pretending to be, then rewarded by an animated action! Love the pictures Jasmine has created.

Some of my amazing testers! Thanks to @Jonathanwpurvis for sending in these photo’s of his gorgeous girls testing my App!  I think that the navigation is finally there and everyone seems to approve of the interaction changes. I’m still not sure what voice-over style is best. A few people have said they really liked Gina’s before, but others have said that now the story is in the first person a child’s voice would be better…

Thanks to Carl I now have the paint section saving to iPhoto. It places the image kids have drawn in a frame on the ‘gallery’ wall.

This week was a big week for Timmy. After additional rounds of testing I have finally ironed out all the crashes and been given lots of feedback about how the App works. This has meant changing the story and a lot of the interaction, definitely for the better. Now kids can actively cheer Timmy up, help him if he falls over, play the xylophone, count to eight etc.. I am feeling really good about all these changes, even if it does mean I have to get the audio re-recorded.

Next stage is to get a build out to all my testers (including some with iPad 3′s) and see what they think. Test Flight has been causing me no end of frustration today. I tried to upload the iPad version of the App about 20 times yesterday and kept getting an ‘Unknown Error’. I finally managed to get a build up today and the whole site immediately crashed. Fingers crossed they sort it out soon.

The most recent feature I have been working on is coding some nursery tunes for Timmy to play. He now has Three Blink mice, Old MacDonald, Row Row Row your boat and Twinkle Twinkle little star! Big weekend ahead adding lots more features and tightening up the code for more testing rounds next week!

I’m in the final phase of the App now and am testing and adding new testers like crazy! My famous brother Inventor Tom just Tweeted about it and now they are pouring in. I hope they like it and I have finally ironed out all the crashes and bugs. Found a few things this morning and added some new animations. Tickle now has 4 different animations and if you hit Timmy in the face he looks most upset. I’m also working on the washing up page, as a LOT of people said they wanted Timmy to wash up the cups…

After lots more user testing Timmy Tickle Paint is really coming together! The gorgeous Gina Beck has once again lent her dulcet tones to the colours so they are read aloud when you make your selection. The eraser icon provides and extra big brush to wipe away the colour, and ‘magic paint’ allows kids to paint a textured background!

 Last weekend I finally got tickets to see the new Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy. Despite the crowds it was one of the best exhibitions I have been to in years. I loved the colours and the use of multi-media. Particularly the installation comprising 9 massive screens displaying time lapsed images. Beautiful. Most interesting was Hockney’s use of the iPad for painting, which were blown up and have a unique quality which even affected the paintings he did afterwards. Obviously I started thinking about the colouring section I am adding to Timmy Tickle and how creative these devices can be in the right hands!

First trial of Timmy Tickle paint! Isabelle was very neat to start with and enjoyed the magic paint. She soon realised she could properly mash it and created some pictures in a more Jackson Pollock style. Excellent. Thinking I may need a more detailed background though to keep interest.
