Last month I was contacted by AppTurbo who wanted to promote my App. When I spoke at the #LEGUp event a few months ago one of the other speakers, James Huggins from MadeInMe said that one of the most successful marketing strategies for them had been using an App giveaway company of this kind. So I thought, why not?

I made my App free for 48 hours and they promoted it. The first day I had 250 downloads and the next day a whopping 30,000. My Flurry statistics went mental, with 68,000 sessions in one day.

Obviously I don’t make a bean, but it means that a lot more people are now playing with my app and hopefully spreading the word. I have had a few more reviews already, which have mainly been positive – apart from the ones who wish I had translated it for their language – which is fair enough.

I even went down their slide and coloured in a little owl on their colouring wall. Fun times.
Timmy Tickle is an interactive story app for IOS, and kids are prompted to play and learn – whether it’s counting balloons, washing dishes, playing the xylophone, playing dress up, matching which fruit he’s imitating, and tickling him to cheer him up.”
